While occupying LA, one of the only times I ventured off was to go see the Tim Burton exhibition at the LACMA, here in LA (it is next to the La Brea Tar Pits), on Halloween morning (1am/2am-ish) this past year (a few months ago).
They had all this stuff there, under one roooooof.
All the puppets and kinky wardrobes from Batman to Edward Scissor-hands to a Nightmare Before etc etc Frankenweenie stuff etc Vincent etc etc
It was pretty awesome, tbh.
I've seen saw Salvador Dali stuff there as well... René Magritte too... and among others who don't come to me at the moment.
At one point, I actually considered attending CalArts (the school Tim Burton, among others from Sponge Bob to the Power Puff girls creators etc etc went to. although at the time i didn't realize it). Apparently it is basically a Disney "farm", they donate a lot to there. I was gonna go for stop-motion related stuff... but then I realized how expensive as fuck art school is and I never even dared applied (i would have never been able to afford it, and this was back when tuition was still "cheap" LOL... i wonder how much it costs now. geezus fucking crass.)... was way too turned off/discouraged at that point for school in general. By that point I eventually started to teach myself how to code/haxxorz etc. and never bothered to look back. Computer Science is a cheaper major anyway (well, depending where you go... lawlz).
