I think both Deicide and Char have proven to be CC's best songwriting since III. It clearly follows the same narrative of departure and loss of whom used to be the elefant in the room since 2014 and the harmful mess that she chose to surround herself with. Frail was more of a confrontational statement than a passive agressive dedicatory.

The new lyrics have been so clever and poetic, while the melodies are spot on as well. CC have always been masterminds of analogies and metaphors, but I never honestly believed that III's lyrics could be topped. This album really could be their best ❤️
